What is Coursera Plus?

Coursera Plus is a subscription that gives access to most courses and professional certificates on Coursera. At $399 a year it is expensive for casual learners, so Black Friday is the time to buy: in 2025 the annual plan was 40% off, at $239.40.

The 2025 offer ran from 7 November to 1 December 2025 on Coursera's own Black Friday page, applied automatically at checkout, and was for new Coursera Plus annual subscribers. If you already pay monthly, the deal may not apply to your existing subscription.

Will you actually use it?

The math is simple. One professional certificate paid monthly can cost a few hundred dollars if it takes several months. If you plan to finish two or more certificates in a year, the discounted annual plan is a clear win. If you will take one short course, pay for that course or audit it.

Who should skip it

Anyone hoping for a university degree: degrees are not included. Learners who start courses and stop after week two, too, and a year of access does not fix that. Check the course you want carries the Coursera Plus label before paying, since some content is excluded.
