What is Epidemic Sound?

Epidemic Sound licenses music and sound effects for online video, podcasts and ads, with copyright clearance built in. Solo creators with one monetised channel can start on Creator. Anyone cutting videos for clients needs Pro, and using Creator for client work breaks the licence.

Creator or Pro?

Creator covers publishing anywhere online and monetising one channel per platform, with unlimited downloads and access to the mobile app and plugins. Pro adds up to three monetised channels per platform, client and business publishing, and unlimited use in digital ads. Business adds influencer marketing, protection for one channel per platform, two team members and priority support. Enterprise is a quote for public institutions. Music for ad campaigns requires Pro or above.

Pricing and the monthly trap

A July 2026 price check by a third-party review site listed US prices of $9.99 a month for Creator on annual billing ($119.88 a year) and $17.99 on monthly billing. Pro was $16.99 a month annually ($203.88 a year) against $39.99 monthly. Business was $30 annual or $75 monthly. The gap is large, so a monthly Pro plan makes sense only for a short, one-off job. Prices vary by country, and the official pricing page we fetched did not render its amounts, so confirm at checkout.

Trial, cancellation and refunds

The official page mentions a free trial but not its length. A third-party review puts it at 30 days for new users, with a payment method required and an automatic switch to the paid plan unless you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access to the end of the paid period. Epidemic Sound states it does not give prorated refunds on monthly or yearly plans, so cancel before the renewal date, not after.

The standing 50% deal

The official deals page currently lists 50% off the yearly Creator, Pro and Business plans. It shows no end date but calls the offers time-bound, and you must create the account through the deal link to receive the price. We found no verified Black Friday history to compare it against, so treat the standing discount as the main reason to buy now rather than wait.

Who should skip it

If you need a handful of tracks a year, a pay-per-track licence will cost less than any subscription. Musicians after AI-generated custom songs should look elsewhere. Channels that publish under several brands should read the channel limits before choosing a tier.

Decision rule: choose Creator for your own single channel, Pro for client videos or ads, and always pay yearly.
