What is Fantastical?

Fantastical is a calendar app for Apple devices made by Flexibits. Its best features sit behind the Flexibits Premium subscription. Worth buying on sale? Yes, if you are a new customer and planning to stay on Apple hardware, because past Black Friday deals targeted exactly that group.

Flexibits appeared in the 2025 list of Black Friday developer deals, but the discount was not stated publicly. The clearest precedent is 2022, when Flexibits offered 50% off Premium for new customers. Those deals were sold only on the Flexibits website and applied to the first year. From year two you pay the normal rate.

What to watch

  • Existing subscribers have not been the target of these promotions.
  • Buying in the App Store may not show the website price.
  • The discount covers the first year only.

Who it is not for

Android and Windows users can skip it. So can anyone happy with Apple Calendar: Fantastical's appeal is typing "Lunch with Sam Friday at 1" and getting a correct event, plus a denser layout. That convenience matters to people juggling several calendars and meetings daily, much less to someone with three events a week.

If you try the free version and keep hitting the Premium wall, wait for late November and check flexibits.com before paying.
