What is Hetzner?

What Hetzner is

Hetzner Online GmbH is a German hosting company selling cloud servers, dedicated servers and storage. It suits developers and small companies that manage their own Linux machines and care about price per core and per GB. Beginners who expect a site builder or phone support should look elsewhere.

What the cloud page shows today

On 28 October 2026 the cloud page listed Regular Performance shared servers from 6.49 EUR a month, General Purpose dedicated-vCPU servers from 43.49 EUR, and a Cost-Optimized line from 5.99 EUR marked currently unavailable. Prices exclude VAT. The page promises generous included traffic and low rates for extra transfer, but gives no figures, so check the console for the exact quota of the size you pick.

Cloud servers sit in Falkenstein and Nuremberg in Germany, Helsinki in Finland, Singapore, and Hillsboro and Ashburn in the US.

The 2026 price rises

Hetzner repriced twice this year, according to trade and independent reports. An April 2026 change lifted most cloud plans by roughly 30 to 37 percent, and a June 2026 change raised shared plans again, with the CX23 reported at 5.49 EUR from 3.99 EUR and dedicated-vCPU plans rising far more. Heise reports Hetzner adjusting prices up to 200 percent. These figures come from third parties; one says the June change applies to new orders and rescales only. IPv4 is billed separately, reported at 0.50 EUR a month.

Black Friday and who should skip it

We found no Hetzner Black Friday campaign, so there is nothing to wait for. Skip Hetzner if you need managed WordPress, a site builder or phone support, and weigh this year's rises against rivals.

Decision rule: pick the location nearest your users, price the server plus IPv4 and VAT, and compare against Contabo or DigitalOcean before committing to a long project.
