How to get the 1Password Black Friday discount

- Sign up as a new customer
- Check the first-year price at checkout
Fine print: Last year: new customers only, first year only.
What is 1Password?
1Password is a paid password manager with no free tier, aimed at people who value a polished app on every device. Its sales help new customers only, so if you already pay for it, there is nothing to wait for.
Pricing today
On 28 October 2026 the pricing page showed Individual at $2.99 a month (regularly $3.99) and Families at $4.49 a month (regularly $5.99), both billed yearly. Families covers up to 5 users with unlimited shared vaults and admin controls. The promotion is for new customers who buy directly from 1Password.com, for the first year only, and not through app stores. Prices were also shown in CAD and EUR.
The renewal catch
The cheap first year ends. Year two bills at the regular price, so the promotion is a one-time saving, not a new rate. Do the maths on the regular $3.99 and $5.99 before comparing against Bitwarden or a free manager.
Trial and refund
1Password offers a 14-day free trial on either plan, with no credit card required. The page does not mention a refund policy, so the trial is your protection. Payment is by card, ACH direct debit on eligible US accounts, or a gift card.
Black Friday pattern
In 2025 the offer was up to 50% off the first year of Individual for new sign-ups, though one source reported 25%. Existing subscribers were not eligible. Because the October 2026 page already shows a promotion, the Black Friday deal may differ little from what you see now.
Who should skip it
Skip 1Password if you want a free manager or the lowest annual cost: Bitwarden's Premium runs $19.80 a year. Families pay more than for solo plans, so compare Families against separate Individual accounts if only two people share.
Decision rule: start the 14-day trial. Buy Individual if you like the apps and have a new-customer promotion available, and set a reminder before the first renewal.
