What Keeper is and who it suits

Keeper is a paid password manager that also covers passkeys, secure file storage and a dark web monitoring add-on. It suits people who want a polished vault they can share with a family and who accept paying a yearly subscription. If you only want a free vault, Bitwarden is the more natural fit.

Is the free plan enough?

The free tier is narrow. On the pricing page we opened, it is limited to one mobile device and ten password or passkey records. That works as a trial of the interface, not as a daily vault for most people. Once you add a laptop or pass ten logins, you will be pushed to Keeper Unlimited.

Plans and the first-year catch

Keeper sells Unlimited for one person and a Family plan for several users, both billed annually. The official page we fetched showed blank price fields, so we cannot print a current list price from Keeper itself. Third-party reviews in 2026 disagree slightly: some quote about $35 a year for Personal and $75 for Family, while Security.org lists $39.96 and $84.96. The pattern is consistent though: deal sites report the sale price applies to the first year for new customers only, and renewal returns to the standard rate.

How the Black Friday sales have gone

Keeper has discounted Personal and Family plans every November we could trace. Tom's Guide covered a 50% cut in 2023 (Family at $37.49 for year one) and again in 2024. In 2025 coverage split between 50% and 60%, with a Personal plan quoted at $1.33 a month in the 60% version. Buying early in the sale and waiting for the deepest tier are different strategies, and the second has paid off at least once.

Who should skip it

Keeper does not publish a refund window on the page we read, so check the checkout terms before paying. If a free, open-source vault covers your needs, skip it. If you want a family vault with shared folders and you will diarise the renewal date, the sale price is a sensible entry point: buy Family on the first-year discount, then reassess in eleven months.
