What is OceanWP?

OceanWP is a free WordPress theme with paid extensions sold as Core Extensions bundles on yearly or lifetime terms. It is worth a look on sale if you run WooCommerce stores on OceanWP already. New sites built in the block editor have more modern options.

Black Friday history

OceanWP has run Black Friday sales on its bundles before, with reports pointing to large discounts on the Pro Bundle in 2023 and 2024. We could not confirm the exact percentages or any 2025 terms on OceanWP's own pages, so we list no deal here. Past sales were said to apply automatically on oceanwp.org from around November 20 into early December.

Before you buy

Check the bundle contents, since extensions differ between tiers. Decide between yearly and lifetime based on how long you will keep the theme. And confirm that the extensions you need still get updates.

OceanWP is not for someone who wants a full-site-editing block theme. It is also more than a minimal blog needs; the free theme alone handles that.

Frequently asked questions

Is the OceanWP lifetime bundle a good Black Friday buy?

Only if you plan to keep using OceanWP for several years. Check which extensions each tier includes first.

Do I need a paid OceanWP bundle at all?

Not for a simple site. The free theme works on its own; the bundles add extensions such as extra WooCommerce and layout features.
