What is Parallels Desktop?

Parallels Desktop lets you run Windows and other operating systems in a virtual machine on your Mac. If you need it, Black Friday is the time to start a subscription: last year the first year of Standard and Pro was 50% off.

The 2025 deal needed a code. NEW50 or PARALLELS50 at checkout took half off new Standard and Pro subscriptions, and Pro came to $59.99 for the year. Business Edition was 35% off with NEW35 or PARALLELS35. The sale ended on 30 November 2025.

Two things to know

  • The codes work on new first-year subscriptions only. Renewals are not discounted.
  • Parallels ran an earlier 45% off promo from 14 October to 3 November 2025. The Black Friday code was the better deal.

Pick Pro if you run demanding Windows software or development tools; Standard covers everyday Windows apps. We could not confirm current list prices, so check parallels.com.

Parallels is not for people who only need one Windows app occasionally. A web version or a cloud PC may be cheaper. No 2026 sale has been announced.
