What is Bartender 6?

Bartender 6 is a Mac utility that tidies a crowded menu bar by hiding, grouping and rearranging icons. It costs $24 one time, and it is worth buying whenever your menu bar is overflowing. Waiting for Black Friday saves very little.

During Black Friday 2025 Bartender 6 sold for $20, roughly 17% off. That is a four-dollar saving. If the notch on a MacBook is already swallowing icons you need, four dollars is not a good reason to put up with it for another month.

What you actually pay for

A single license bought directly from macbartender.com. There is no subscription. We did not find an affiliate program or any public coupon code, so be suspicious of sites promising big Bartender promo codes.

Who it is not for

If you run only a handful of menu bar apps, macOS lets you Command-drag icons to reorder or remove them, and that may be all you need. Free alternatives exist too, and they cover basic hiding. Bartender is for people with fifteen or more menu bar items on a notched MacBook who want rules, groups and quick search across them.

Our take: buy it at full price if the problem bothers you today. If you are on the fence, the late-November price drop is a fine moment to try it, but do not expect a dramatic discount.
