Setapp

What is Setapp?

Setapp is a subscription that gives you access to a catalog of Mac apps, with iOS apps on some plans, for one fee. It usually skips Black Friday, and 2025 was no exception: no extra discount was reported.

The one standing saving we found is a 20% educational discount on the annual Mac plus iOS plan. If you are a student or teacher, that beats anything you are likely to see in November.

Reseller deals

Third-party deal stores have sold 1-year Setapp plans with their own codes in the past. We could not confirm when, or whether those codes still work, so we do not list them. If you buy through a reseller, make sure the plan type and length match what you need.

The value of Setapp depends on how many of its apps you would otherwise buy. If you use three or four of them, the subscription can cost less than separate licences. If you want one specific app, buy it directly. Several Setapp apps, like CleanMyMac, run their own Black Friday sales.

Setapp is not for Windows users, and not for people who dislike subscriptions on principle.
